Petting Zoo

We recently visited a petting zoo.  Trevor got to milk a "cow".  I tried explaining this is how we get his milk that he drinks every morning, but he wasn't buying it.  I don't blame him!

Ethan loved the baby lamb!  I have to admit it was pretty cute, especially, when it was jumping around!

The real fun began when they got to go into the baby goat area.  At first, they were a little afraid of the goats...

Until we let them feed them.

Uh-oh, only one bottle and two baby goats...

Uh-oh THREE baby goats and one bottle, which one is going to be the lucky winner...

If this were me, I would be terrrified, but the boys loved it! 

Trevor also got to go on his first pony ride!  Brave boy - wasn't scared a bit!

Caterpillar Pizza

While planning Ethan's Hungry Caterpillar birthday party, I came across a picture of caterpillar pizzas and thought it would be fun to do with boys.  They were pretty simple to make; we used this recipe as a guideline for the cooking temperature and cooking time. 

The boys had a lot of fun making their pizza and eating the toppings.  By the time they were finished they were so full, they barely even took a bite out of the cooked pizza.

Happy Easter!

Our Easter weekend celebration started with Steve off from work on Good Friday - always a positive and then dying eggs on "Easter eve."  I'm glad the boys had a lot of fun because it was a lot of work for me and Steve!  Note to self for next year:  use bigger cups and put newspaper down on the table!  It was a big mess!

We had to sit carrots out for the Easter Bunny (and as usual, one of the boys (Trevor) had to eat some of them)!



This morning Trevor woke up first as usual.  He was a little nervous about going downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny came.  (The mismatch pj's are from him waking up at 5 am with wet pants.)

But once he found his basket, he completely forgot about how the candy and toys got there! 

About an hour later, Ethan wakes up and went straight for his basket!

And of course, the big chocolate bunny!

After church, we went to my mom's for Easter dinner.  I made this cute little bunny cake.



The boys went on an Easter egg hunt.  Ethan found a "magic" eight ball.  He carried it around the whole time for luck.  :)

Some might consider this cheating, but since it's my son, I'm not saying anything!  :)

The eight ball must have worked some magic because there was something interesting in Ethan's basket!

That's a lot of candy Ethan!  If you eat it all, your shirt may permanently stay that way!

22.Your favorite holiday:  Christmas Eve, okay, I guess it's not really a holiday, but I love the anticipation of Christmas morning.  Actually, I love the whole Christmas holiday season.

Hungry Caterpillar Birthday Party

We had a Hungry Caterpillar birthday party for Ethan's 2nd birthday.  It was so easy and cheap!  I made the birthday invitations.

We made the birthday banner out of paper plates, ribbon, stencils, and pipe cleaner.

Caterpillar balloons - We made a few of these around the house, but with four little boys at the house, the ones lower to the ground didn't stay in the caterpillar shape very long.  :)

The cake - cupcakes, one round cake, Hershey's kisses for the feet and nose, nutter butter cookies and m&m's for the eyes, and pipe cleaner for the antennas.  Luckily, Kohl's was having an Eric Carle charity event so I was able to find a stuffed Hungry Caterpillar and the book for a good price.  We had everyone who attended the party sign the book.

I tried to include all of the food from the caterpillar's Saturday binge. 

For the cherry pie, I found this simple recipe on Pillsbury.com.

For the games, we had a cute butterfly pinata.  I always forget to hand out party favors when the guests are leaving so I just handed out party bags and let the kids go crazy collecting the candy.  The kids didn't seem to mind!

We tried playing "hot caterpillar," but that didn't go over so well...

Happy Birthday little guy!  Poor boy had a cold.  This is the 2nd year he's had to go to the doctor on his birthday; thankfully, this time is was much less serious than last year (he had bronchiolitis and was on breathing treatments)! Let's hope next year is better.



I think he still had a lot of fun and was partied out by the end of the night!
